The Service Planner will support the Service Operations team by maintaining service supply plans and ensuring customer return demand requirements are met. This role partners cross functionally with planning, production, repair operations, program management, and engineering teams to manage supply demand tradeoffs, inventory health, and service readiness.
Responsibilities
Assist the Service Operations team by maintaining service supply plans to support customer return demand
Manage and maintain system parameters including contracts, part numbers, bills of material, chaining, and material supplier data relationships
Actively manage inventory shortages and excess, minimum stock levels, demand forecasts, and key performance metrics for monthly management review
Partner with production and factory teams to reduce excess inventory and coordinate with production planning on alternate parts and part numbers
Collaborate with business units on demand and flexibility tradeoffs to ensure additional liabilities are evaluated carefully
Work with the Planning team lead to evaluate capacity, material, and production constraints and determine tradeoff options
Prepare weekly supply summaries by analyzing demand shortfalls and supply changes
Liaise with Repair Operations to maximize timely use of refurbished material
Support ramp planning with program managers and engineers from early stage sampling through production
Coordinate product revision transition plans based on customer qualification schedules and supply availability
Use SAP planning and buying capabilities to support supply related activities
Manage purchase orders for service related products across repair and new build sites
Provide analytical and systems support to the Service Planning team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Seven or more years of experience in service planning, preferably using SAP
Direct experience with service operations, spare parts planning, and customer support
Strong communication, problem solving, teamwork, organizational, and quantitative skills
Proven ability to document, automate, and improve processes across functions
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel including formulas and pivot tables
Experience with MRP systems and supply planning tools
Ability to write Excel macros is a plus
Excellent English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
Highly organized, detail oriented, self starter, and collaborative with a strong sense of ownership
