Position Summary

Performs advanced, safety sensitive, clerical, fiscal, and backup dispatching duties in support of Flagler County Public Transportation’s (FCPT) operations. Assists the Transportation Coordinator in performing administrative duties in a coordinated public transportation system.

Essential Functions

• Receives telephone calls, takes cancellations, and schedules trips.
• Operates computer dispatch program and directs drivers.
• Creates, distributes, and audits manifests of daily trips for FCPT.
• Prepares trip and on-time performance reports as needed.
• Assists with drivers in mapping help with routes as needed.
• Assists with Medicaid verification and billing.
• Provides administrative assistance to Transportation Coordinator
• Must comply with the provisions of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Regulations.
• During emergencies, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• 2-years’ experience in administrative, clerical, or financial work. Public transportation administrative experience preferred.
• Possession of Class “C” Florida Commercial Driver’s License or higher with Passenger Endorsement is preferred. As a condition of continued employment, a (CLP) Commercial Learners Permit must be obtained within 3 months from date of hire and a Class “C” Florida Commercial Driver’s License or higher with Passenger Endorsement must be obtained prior to the end of the one-year probationary period.

• Knowledge of transportation scheduling software such as Trapeze.
