About the Role
NociQuant’s Summer 2026 Internship Program is designed for students who want to turn advanced AI methods into practical medical solutions. This is a hands-on research and engineering experience where you will work as in a team to develop custom medical AI.
Projects may include:
- Fine-tune and deploy custom LLMs for statistical analysis, interpretation, and clinical decision support.
- Apply computational research methods to design and test novel AI approaches for medical diagnosis.
- End to end software development.
- Build data pipelines to process, analyze, and query large databases.
Program Details
- Flexibility: Set your own work hours and work fully remote.
- Time commitment: 10-15 hours per week.
- Term: May 25 – August 28, 2026.
- Mentorship: Weekly online strategy and technical guidance meetings with the core team.
- Compensation: Unpaid internship; designed as a training and educational experience.
- Academic credit: Internship credit may be available, depending on your institution’s policies.
Who Should Apply
This role is ideal for students who are deeply curious, self-directed, and excited by messy, real-world data problems in medicine. Prior LLM or AI experience is a plus but not required if you’re eager to learn and comfortable picking up new tools quickly.
- Suggested majors: Data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, computational biology, computational neuroscience, public health, or related STEM fields.
- Recommended skills: Python, ML/AI libraries, basic statistics, working with APIs, data wrangling, or prior experience with language models.
