3rd Shift Shear Operator Full Time NEW

Modern Forge, Piney Flats, TN, is accepting applications for a 3rd Shift Shear Operator. You will cut material to specified lengths and quantity on various sized shears and production saws. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. After 3 months of service, you become eligible for participation in our medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage. After 6 months of service, you are eligible for vacation pay. After 30 days of service, you become eligible for company paid holidays. Responsibilities

• Receives instruction and work assignments from Material Coordinator
• Set-up and adjusts shears and production saw with correct blade size based on material size and grade to be cut
• Cuts material to specified lengths and quantity per the traveler
• Sets bar stop to correct length using a tape measure
• Operates automatic shears and production saw
• Replaces shear blades when worn or defective and reviews blade conditions to maintain accurate inventory of ready to use shear blades
• Weigh each tub of material and record to maintain accurate record of material cut
• Transports material to and from machine using a lift truck.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
• Follows all safety procedures and precautions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2 years Relevant experience preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Final candidates will be required to undergo a background check and a drug screening as part of the hiring process.

Schedule

• 3rd Shift
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
