Utilization Review Specialist Full Time

Position Overview

The Utilization Review Specialist will play a key role in supporting revenue cycle operations, with a focus on authorizations and payer communication. This individual will work cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate utilization review processes while contributing to the buildout of internal systems and workflows. Responsibilities

• Manage utilization review and authorization processes across behavioral health services and levels of care
• Communicate with commercial insurance providers and navigate payer portals to secure approvals
• Monitor authorization statuses, ensure timely submissions, and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams to support revenue cycle workflows and process improvements
• Identify issues, troubleshoot challenges, and proactively recommend solutions
• Contribute to the development and optimization of internal systems and procedures

Qualifications

• Experience with utilization review and/or authorizations in a behavioral or mental health setting
• Familiarity working with commercial insurance payers and navigating payer portals
• Exposure to multiple levels of care (e.g., inpatient, outpatient, IOP, detox)
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
• Comfortable working in a fast-changing, high-growth environment with evolving processes

Compensation And Benefits

This position offers a salary range of $50,000–$65,000, along with unlimited PTO, health insurance contributions, a 401(k) program, and employer-paid dental and vision coverage for employees (with partial dependent coverage).
