This is a senior technical leadership role focused on building and scaling the foundational systems that power high-traffic, real-time digital entertainment and sports platforms. You will work at the intersection of architecture, infrastructure, and product enablement, shaping core services that support millions of users across betting, gaming, and media applications. The role requires deep systems thinking, strong ownership of distributed architectures, and the ability to drive technical direction across multiple engineering teams. You will operate in a fast-moving, product-driven environment where reliability, scalability, and performance are critical. Beyond writing high-quality code, you will influence architectural decisions, improve engineering velocity, and elevate technical standards across the organization. Accountabilities

• Lead the design and evolution of core platform services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability across distributed systems.
• Develop and optimize APIs and services (including GraphQL, gRPC, and REST) that power customer-facing applications and internal platforms.
• Build and maintain event-driven architectures and backend systems supporting real-time, high-throughput workloads.
• Drive system performance improvements through database optimization (PostgreSQL), caching strategies, and infrastructure tuning.
• Own observability and reliability practices, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and system health across production environments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to define technical requirements, identify edge cases, and ensure robust implementations.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering excellence through code reviews, architectural guidance, and technical leadership.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with strong exposure to distributed systems and backend architecture.
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
• Strong experience working with modern backend technologies such as Elixir, Java, Rust, TypeScript, or similar polyglot environments.
• Proven ability to design and scale high-performance systems under heavy load and real-time constraints.
• Strong experience with relational databases (especially PostgreSQL) and familiarity with caching strategies at scale.
• Experience with observability tools (e.g., Datadog, logging/monitoring stacks) and production incident response.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Experience working in high-scale domains such as gaming, sports betting, fintech, or real-time consumer platforms.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction across teams.
