Job Summary

Black Rifle Coffee Company is seeking a Staff Corporate Accountant to join our San Antonio Accounting team. They are a group of bright, dedicated people running “100 miles a minute” and getting a lot of work done. The Staff Corporate Accountant will report directly to the Director of Corporate Accounting where primary responsibilities consist of assisting with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including recording journal entries, completing reconciliations, and compiling information for the financial reporting package. The Staff Corporate Accountant will also have the opportunity to support other functions across the accounting department with special projects, financial reporting, and other opportunities presented by a growing public company.

Job Details

Functional Responsibilities

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, annual close and financial reporting procedures
• Prepare and record monthly journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information and activity
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and expense account reconciliations
• Preparing documentation to support entries and reconciliations which meets the standards of SOX 404
• Support process improvements across the accounting/finance department
• Support preparation of monthly internal management and external reporting packages
• Support external audits by creating support schedules and working with external audits
• Perform special projects as needed
• Maintain and develop relationships with internal and external parties of the Company

Education and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required
• 1 – 2 years of relevant work experience performing standard accounting functions including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparing financial results for internal and external purposes or auditor for public accounting firm
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal and external parties of the Company.
• Knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with US GAAP
• Knowledge of applicable Microsoft Applications (Excel)

Preferred Requirements

• Public Accounting experience
• Experience with NetSuite ERP System or Other ERP general ledger software

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Physical Requirements

This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. This position requires to be in office minimum of 4 days per week. This position may require overtime during peak in working times including, but not limited to, quarterly closes and our annual audit.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
• Light to moderate lifting is required
• Ability to uphold the stress of traveling
• Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate
• Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
• Ability to work in a confined area.
• Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
