About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Early Career Software Engineer to join our Simulation and Training Products team. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of sophisticated combat systems simulation software. The successful candidate will work on designing, implementing, and testing software components that enhance our simulation capabilities. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions. The position is based at our New Jersey facility with the possibility of remote work to promote work-life balance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for software engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to grow within a dynamic defense technology environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, or a closely related field
• Experience with C/C++, Java, and/or Python programming languages
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain software components using Object-Oriented Software Engineering principles
• Write and execute software in C++, Java, and optionally Python within Linux/Unix environments
• Collaborate with team members to integrate software modules into larger simulation systems
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Utilize modeling tools and static code analysis to improve software quality
• Configure network topologies and contribute to system modeling efforts
• Support software troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization tasks
• Engage in continuous learning to stay current with emerging technologies and tools relevant to simulation and training systems
