Site Engagement Associate Director – Respiratory Full Time NEW

This role is a strategic, field-based leadership position focused on strengthening and expanding partnerships with key clinical research sites across the United States. You will play a central role in shaping a high-performing site network that supports efficient, high-quality clinical trial delivery, particularly within respiratory and broader therapeutic areas. Acting as a critical interface between internal clinical operations teams and external research institutions, you will help optimize study execution, accelerate timelines, and improve patient access to innovative treatments. The role combines strategic partnership development, operational oversight, and performance management in a highly dynamic R&D environment. You will also contribute to shaping the future of clinical trial site models, including hybrid and digitally enabled approaches. This is a remote position with significant domestic travel, offering strong exposure across clinical development, medical affairs, and innovation-driven research ecosystems.

Accountabilities

• Develop and manage strategic, long-term partnerships with key clinical research sites, academic centers, and community practices
• Lead the expansion and optimization of a US-based site network, including traditional, hybrid, and digitally enabled site models
• Conduct strategic environmental monitoring to anticipate regulatory, operational, and industry changes impacting clinical research delivery
• Establish and track KPIs with external partners, ensuring performance, quality, and compliance across the study lifecycle
• Identify and mitigate operational risks, bottlenecks, and site-level challenges in collaboration with clinical operations teams
• Drive improvements in study startup, enrollment, and cycle times through targeted operational support and process optimization
• Promote and support adoption of digital clinical trial solutions, including eConsent, remote monitoring, and electronic regulatory systems
• Collaborate cross-functionally with feasibility, clinical operations, and medical affairs to ensure optimal site selection and study execution
• Provide strategic input to improve operational excellence, efficiency, and consistency across clinical trial processes
• Advise internal and external stakeholders on future clinical research models and site readiness strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or equivalent experience
• At least 5+ years of experience in clinical research operations or clinical trial management
• Strong understanding of the clinical study lifecycle, including site monitoring and study execution processes
• Proven experience building and maintaining strategic partnerships with research sites or academic institutions
• Solid knowledge of drug development processes and clinical research regulatory environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across internal and external partners
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, matrixed, and highly collaborative environment
• Experience in respiratory or hepatology therapeutic areas is a strong advantage
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% within the United States
