Senior Commercial Counsel / Lead Product Counsel
Remote (US)
We are currently partnering with a high-growth, venture-backed technology company on the search for a senior commercial lawyer to join its lean and highly strategic legal team.
The business operates at the intersection of SaaS, APIs, logistics infrastructure, data, and AI-enabled technology, supporting a large international customer base and processing significant volumes of commercial transactions globally. Following continued growth and product expansion, the company is looking to add a commercially minded attorney who enjoys operating close to the business within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders across product, engineering, go-to-market, security, finance, and operations.
This is a broad and highly visible position with significant responsibility across:
• Leading negotiation and drafting of complex commercial agreements
• SaaS, API, technology, data processing, and vendor agreements
• Product and technology counselling
• AI, automation, and legal operations initiatives
• Data governance and privacy related matters
• Regulatory and operational risk management
• Building scalable legal processes and workflows
• Supporting strategic growth initiatives across the business
The company is particularly interested in candidates who are commercially pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and comfortable balancing legal and business risk in a fast-moving technology environment.
Ideal candidates are likely to bring:
• Strong in-house technology or SaaS experience
• Significant commercial contracting experience
• Experience supporting product, engineering, or go-to-market teams
• Familiarity with AI tools, legal operations, and workflow automation
• Exposure to privacy, intellectual property, marketing, or data governance matters
• Ability to operate independently within a lean legal team
• Strong communication skills and business judgement
Previous startup or high-growth company experience is highly desirable.
