About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Quality Assurance Tester to join our dynamic team. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies for web-based applications to ensure they meet functional, performance, security, and accessibility standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual testing within enterprise or federal environments, with a particular emphasis on accessibility compliance such as Section 508 and WCAG 2.2. You will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to identify, document, and track defects, ensuring that issues are resolved promptly and effectively. Participation in Agile development cycles is essential, as you will contribute to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and review meetings. Your expertise will help improve system reliability, user experience, and overall quality metrics, supporting the delivery of high-quality software solutions to our clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, or related roles within enterprise or federal environments.
• Proven experience performing manual testing of web-based applications.
• Extensive knowledge of accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG 2.2, including experience validating user interfaces for compliance.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies and participating in iterative delivery cycles.
• Experience testing APIs, system integrations, and data workflows is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, document, and track defects effectively.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar platforms.
• Experience supporting compliance frameworks is highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Practical application skills with the ability to perform tasks independently, with occasional guidance from experts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed test strategies, plans, and test cases to validate system functionality, performance, security, and accessibility.
• Perform manual testing of web-based applications, ensuring adherence to quality standards and user experience expectations.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as Section 508 and WCAG 2.2, validating UI elements across different user types.
• Identify, document, and track defects, establishing clear reproduction steps and ensuring timely resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements, ensuring they are testable, complete, and well-understood.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews, contributing to continuous improvement.
• Monitor quality trends, analyze defect data, and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and reduce issues.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, and quality metrics to support transparency and reporting efforts.
