About the role
Northwest Compounders is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Lab Support & Compliance Assistant to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and regulatory readiness of our 7,500 sq. ft. compounding laboratory. This role is essential to our mission of producing safe, high-quality compounded medications and requires a strong commitment to protocol, documentation, and aseptic practice.
Responsibilities
Surface cleaning & disinfection
Execute daily sanitation of the full laboratory footprint, including application of approved disinfecting agents to floors, high-touch vertical surfaces, and windows to minimize bioburden and maintain a controlled environment.
Specialized equipment cleaning
Perform high-detail weekly deactivation and decontamination of analytical scales and the interior and exterior surfaces of powder containment hoods, stands, and primary engineering controls (PECs).
Particulate control
Conduct routine dusting and debris removal in difficult-to-access areas including computer terminals, compounding pod areas, window ledges, and overhead fixtures to prevent environmental particulate accumulation.
Audit-ready documentation
Complete environmental cleaning logs accurately and on time, ensuring all tasks are documented and audit-ready for review by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy and other applicable regulatory bodies.
Physical demands
This role requires sustained physical activity throughout each shift. Candidates must be able to:
Stand, walk, and move continuously for up to 8 hours per shift
Lift, carry, and maneuver cleaning equipment and supply containers weighing up to 40 lbs.
Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead to access all areas of the laboratory environment
Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions associated with scrubbing, wiping, and equipment handling
Work while wearing full cleanroom garb including gown, gloves, mask, hair cover, and shoe covers for extended periods
Work in environments with exposure to cleaning agents and disinfectants; appropriate PPE will be provided
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Prior experience in a cleanroom, laboratory, healthcare, or regulated environment preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written protocols precisely
Ability to read, complete, and maintain accurate written documentation
Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
Ability to pass a background check
Pay: $21.00 – $22.00 per hour
