Multi-Property Maintenance Technician (Growth to Lead Role) Full Time NEW

We operate multiple short-term rental properties across the Hudson Valley / Gunks area and are looking for a reliable, hands-on maintenance technician who can grow into a lead role.

This is not a single-property job and not a “wait for instructions” position. The role involves working across multiple properties, planning work around reservation schedules, handling repairs and small projects, and keeping track of ongoing maintenance needs.

The right person is practical, organized, and comfortable working independently in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs across multiple properties
• Diagnose issues and complete small to mid-size projects
• Plan work around guest reservations and property access
• Pick up materials and bring correct tools for each job
• Take before/after photos and document completed work
• Keep track of ongoing issues across properties
• Communicate clearly about progress, risks, and next steps

Important Role Requirements

This role works best for someone who:

• Can work across multiple properties (not one location)
• Is comfortable with a variable schedule (no fixed shifts)
• Can plan their own work instead of waiting for daily instructions
• Is comfortable using a phone and apps to track schedules and tasks
• Communicates clearly and documents work consistently (including photos)

This position is not a fit for someone looking for:

• A fixed daily task list
• A single-property job
• Occasional or very limited weekly availability

Skills

You should be comfortable with a wide range of general maintenance tasks around residential properties, including:

• Plumbing (repairs, fixtures, basic troubleshooting)
• Electrical (fixtures, outlets, fans, basic diagnosis)
• Carpentry and repairs
• Exterior work (gutter cleaning, landscaping, snow)
• Appliances and general system troubleshooting

You do not need to know everything, but you must:

• Know your limits
• Work safely
• Be willing to learn

Compensation

Compensation depends on both experience level and type of work performed.

• Entry / developing level: $22–$28/hour
• Independent technician level: $26–$34/hour
• Lead / high-skill level: $30–$40/hour and more

Higher rates apply as independence, efficiency, and hands-on execution increase.

Work is tracked by the technician and must be clearly documented, reviewable, and aligned with the defined structure. This role operates independently, but accuracy, transparency, and consistency are essential.

Growth

This role can grow into a Maintenance Lead position over time, with increasing responsibility for planning, organizing, and managing work across multiple properties.

As the operation grows, there will be opportunities for higher earnings, expanded responsibility, and greater ownership of how maintenance work is planned and executed.
