About THUNK
THUNK is an early-stage mental wellness and self-reflection app focused on helping users better understand their thought patterns through tangible metrics, data visualization, and LLM analysis.
We are currently developing the MVP and preparing for launch.
About the Position
THUNK is seeking a motivated and thoughtful student interested in software engineering, product development, UX, and startups to join as a Mobile Engineering Intern for Summer 2026.
This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly on a real product in active development while gaining exposure to startup workflows, product thinking, and software engineering mentorship.
The fellow will work closely with the founder, receive technical guidance from a software engineer at Amazon, and participate in networking conversations with alumni from Princeton University working across software and technology industries.

What You’ll Work On
The fellow will contribute to core product and user experience development for THUNK.
Potential work may include:
- Improving onboarding and journaling flows
- Building and refining app features
- Designing and iterating on UX/UI experiences
- Working with Firebase backend systems
- Creating custom frontend components and interactions
- Improving usability and user flow clarity
- Helping shape product decisions and roadmap discussions
The fellow will own or co-own a meaningful product initiative during the summer.
Tech Stack
Current tools and technologies may include:
- FlutterFlow
- Firebase
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React concepts and custom components
- Figma
- Mobile product design workflows
Experience with all technologies is not required.
Mentorship & Professional Exposure
Fellows will receive:
- Direct collaboration with the founder
- Technical guidance and debugging support from an industry software engineer
- Exposure to startup product development and iteration cycles
- Networking conversations with Princeton alumni working in software, startups, and technology
- Portfolio-building experience through shipped product work
- A professional recommendation/reference upon successful completion
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Curious and proactive
- Interested in building real products
- Excited by startups and early-stage environments
- Thoughtful about user experience and product design
- Comfortable learning independently and collaborating closely
Preferred qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, or related field
- Interest in software engineering and/or UX
- Familiarity with frontend development concepts
- Experience with personal projects, hackathons, clubs, research, or startups is a plus
You do not need to meet every qualification to apply.
