Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Coastal Carolina Health Care, P.A. In this role, you will support laboratory operations by performing various tests and procedures that contribute to patient care. Your work will be vital in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, handling and processing specimens including blood, tissue, urine, nasal and throat swabs
• Running CBC, A1C, stat Glucose, INR testing- knowledge of what test results mean
• Running urinalysis and plating urine cultures
• Performing rapid flu, strep and Covid test, pregnancy test
• Running centrifuge and processing all blood to be sent to designated lab ex: LabCorp vs CCHC Corporate Lab
• Labeling and completing all LabCorp specimens and orders- knowledge of specimen requirements
• Administer injections: testosterone, prolia, ppd, allergy shots, shingles, flu, covid, prevnar, B12
• Documentation of injections and clinic administered medication

Requirements

• Knowledge of tubes required for different lab test
• General knowledge of labs & diagnosis or willingness to learn
• Use of EPIC and Harvest/Orchard
• Ability to perform under stress
• Ability to problem solve and make good decisions to keep lab flow
• Quality control on all machines daily and monthly

Any other duties deemed necessary by either laboratory supervisor and/or office and clinical managers
