Position Overview

BridgeView Nursing Home is seeking a dedicated and detailed-orientated Infection Preventionist to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, healthy environment for our residents, staff, and visitors by leading infection prevention and control efforts throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control programs in accordance with CDC, CMS, and NYSDOH guidelines
• Conduct ongoing surveillance of infections and analyze trends to prevent outbreaks
• Educate staff on infection control practices, including hand hygiene, PPE use, and isolation precautions
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and prepare for inspections and audits
• Investigate and manage infection outbreaks and exposure incidents
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and interdisciplinary teams to promote best practices
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to infection control.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Current RN license in New York State (required)
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain
• Prior experience in infection control, public health, or long-term care strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of CDC and CMS infection control regulations
• Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills
• Ability to analyze data and implement effective interventions

Preferred:

• Previous experience in a long-term care or healthcare setting is a plus.
