HVAC Journeyman – Construction Full Time

Excellent opportunity available for a Journeyman currently holding a S-1 or S-2 License in the State of Connecticut. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years on the job experience in commercial HVAC installations.

Minimum Requirements:

Current S-1 or S-2 License State of CT Occupational

Solid comprehension of various HVAC Systems

Ability to read blue prints for layout and material takeoffs

Safe Work & Rigging Practices

Position Description:

Layout and Installation of Ductwork, Piping, Exhaust/Supply Fans, AHUs, Mini-splits, Dampers and Unit Heaters, etc.

Work will be conducted from ladders, scaffolds or other forms of personnel supporting structures, such as scissor lifts which will require the ability to work at heights. This work also involves stooping, climbing, kneeling, good vision (either naturally or with corrective glasses), reaching, crouching. Some materials or tools utilized during this work may require lifting weights of up to 100 pounds.

Employees will encounter a variety of working conditions that may include, but not limited to, potential exposures to dusts, fumes moving mechanical parts, elevated work, working with products considered irritants, and some sporadic high noise environments. Use of Personal Protective Gear is mandatory.

Compensation:

Compensation at CH Nickerson is in accordance with the State of CT Prevailing Wage Compensation Package.

Current hourly wage for a Licensed S-2 Journeyman is $50.58 for wages plus an additional $36.30 in benefits (increase 7/1/2026).
