The HR Admin at MD Baltimore County, Maryland, is a vital support role within the Human Resources department, primarily based at a Koons Automotive dealership location in White Marsh. This role involves assisting the Human Resources Manager with a variety of functions related to recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee retention. The HR Admin will serve as a key point of contact for new hires and applicants, ensuring smooth communication and compliance throughout the onboarding process. Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. A minimum of 1 to 3 years of professional experience in a human resources or administrative role is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across various organizational levels. Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion are essential. Familiarity with the recruitment process and HR compliance standards is a plus. Candidates must be proficient in operating in a fast-paced environment, capable of multitasking, and working independently or collaboratively as needed. A valid driver’s license is required, and some travel may be necessary, accounting for less than 10% of the role.
Responsibilities
The HR Admin will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including communicating effectively with applicants and new hires, initiating and tracking background checks and drug screens, and ensuring completion of all onboarding documentation. They will conduct new hire orientation classes, coordinate onboarding activities with hiring managers, and manage the necessary paperwork for payroll and benefits processing. The role involves maintaining accurate electronic employee files, updating orientation materials, and ensuring compliance with HR documentation standards. The HR Admin will also track candidate statuses daily, provide regular updates to HR and hiring managers, and troubleshoot issues related to background screening and drug testing processes with vendors. Additionally, they will review negative background and drug screen results to determine eligibility based on company policies. The position requires operating under pressure, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the organization’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. The HR Admin may also assist with other HR-related projects to support the overall mission and vision of the organization.
