Job Title: Software Development Engineer (SDE – L5)
Location: Irvine, CA or (Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced L5 Software Development Engineer with prior experience at Amazon and strong expertise in Amazon Builder Tools. The selected candidate will join a high-impact TGS project team working on platform enhancements and scalable systems supporting billions of inventory items and thousands of vendors.
This is a full-stack role involving backend services, frontend development, AWS infrastructure, and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications
- Build high-quality, maintainable code aligned with Amazon engineering standards
- Develop and integrate APIs and event-driven architectures
- Work with AWS services for cloud-native development
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for feature delivery and enhancements
- Participate in testing, debugging, deployment, and DevOps processes
- Contribute to AI integration and modern engineering practices
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of software development experience
- Mandatory: Former Amazon FTE or 12+ months contractor at Amazon
- Minimum 1+ year experience with Amazon Builder Tools
- Strong backend experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, or similar
- 3+ years frontend experience with React.js or similar
- Hands-on experience with AWS CDK and cloud-native development
- Experience with AWS services: Lambda, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Redshift
- Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture
- Experience across full SDLC (design, development, testing, deployment)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
- Exposure to AI integration and modern DevOps practices
- Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
