Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Exhibits a service orientation toward customers and maintains productive working relationships
• Participates in the accomplishment of organizational, departmental, and workgroup goals and objectives
• Provides customer service support to internal and external customers;
• Screens incoming calls and correspondence to provide assistance or direct to the appropriate area;
• Assists customers with memberships, program registrations, rentals, and taking payments;
• Responds to customer inquiries and assists in the resolution of problems;
• Responds to internal requests for information and assistance, and provides information regarding applicable rules, policies, and regulations;
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

• Customer service principles
• Time management principles

Skill In

• Using modern office equipment
• Keyboarding
• Using a computer and related software applications
• Customer service
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with associate personnel, other City employees and the general public
• Tactfully and courteously interact with children and adults participating in recreation activities

• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.THIS IS A PART-TIME 20-25 HOUR PER WEEK POSITION. MUST BE WILLING TO WORK EVENING/WEEKENDS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
