GoCar Tours operates a unique fleet of gas and electric vehicles that deliver one-of-a-kind, GPS-guided tours throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area.

We’re looking for a Fleet Mechanic & Breakdown Response Driver to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for guests. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and critical to daily operations—perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with vehicles, and being out in the field.

What You’ll Do

• Respond to breakdown calls and assist customers with troubleshooting
• Dispatch and transport replacement vehicles when needed
• Safely load and transport vehicles between locations
• Diagnose and repair gas and electric vehicles
• Perform routine maintenance with a strong focus on safety
• Maintain strict preventative maintenance (PM) schedules
• Communicate with customers, call center, and operations team
• Track fleet activity and update records in fleet management systems
• Order, receive, and manage parts inventory
• Identify and report issues requiring escalation
• Assist in documenting vehicle damage from customer use
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic mechanical aptitude (experience with vehicle repair preferred)
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• 25+ years old
• Comfortable driving and testing vehicles on the road
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written English)
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and solve problems independently
• Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends

Experience That Will Make You Successful in This Role:

• Experience working with electric vehicles
• Rental fleet or high-volume vehicle maintenance experience
• ASE certification or manufacturer certifications
• Multilingual abilities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 5–100 lbs
• Comfortable bending, lifting, stretching, and working in tight spaces
• Able to stand or remain active throughout a full shift
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

Pay: $24.00 – $29.00 per hour
