Electric Motor Winder / Rewind Technician Full Time

We are seeking an experienced Electric Motor Winder / Rewind Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for the disassembly, inspection, rewinding, repair, and reassembly of AC and DC electric motors and related rotating equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and hands‑on experience in a motor repair shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble and inspect AC/DC motors, armatures, rotors, stators, and coils
• Record winding data and prepare coils for rewinding
• Strip, clean, rewind, insulate, and reassemble motors to OEM or customer specifications
• Perform electrical testing (megger, surge, hi‑pot, core loss, etc.)
• Operate shop equipment such as bake ovens, dip tanks, presses, and balancing machines
• Diagnose motor failures and document findings
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and quality standards

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electric motor winding/rewinding experience (preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and motor data sheets
• Familiarity with AC/DC motors, generators, and industrial rotating equipment
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment
• High school diploma or technical training in electromechanical repair

Preferred Skills

• Experience with VPI systems
• Knowledge of NEMA and EASA standards
• Balancing experience (rotors/armatures)
• Ability to operate forklifts or overhead cranes
