Job description

Barr-Nunn Transportation, a premier truckload carrier in business for over 43 years, is currently seeking a Driver Manager (Team Leader) to join our growing team at our Columbus, OH terminal.

The Driver Manager (Team Leader) will lead a fleet of about 30-35 drivers and provide them assistance and support in order to help maximize their productivity as well as maintain company safety metrics.

The ideal candidate will have customer service experience and possess strong interpersonal skills. They should also have solid communication skills, be organized, and show a strong sense of initiative. They should be comfortable navigating between several computer programs/systems while also handling phone calls, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment.

Salary: $47,000 – $55,000

Main Job Responsibilities

– Manage driver’s home time and productivity

– Provide information in a timely manner to Load Coordinators and Load Planners

– Track and trace all drivers to their final destination to maintain on time delivery

– Monitor outward facing cameras and coach events to ensure driver safety

– Monitor hours of service to ensure strict compliance to the DOT rules

– Complete verbal checklists to ensure on-time pickup and delivery

– Ensure that periodic maintenance for tractors is scheduled

– Coordinate driver random drug screens with Safety Department

– Additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience

– High School Diploma

– Valid Driver’s License

– 1-2 years of customer service experience

– No transportation experience required, will train

Skills and Personal Characteristics

– Excellent written and verbal skills

– Excellent interpersonal skills

– Organized & able to stay focused in a noisy environment

– Computer skills

– Knowledge of geography of the United States

– Self-motivated

– Patient

-Flexible – able to work a half day every 4th weekend

– Willing to work until tasks are completed

– Knowledgeable with hours of service and DOT regulations a plus
