Director of Leadership Central Full Time NEW

Responsible for managing the daily operations of the student leadership program(s) by ensuring effective evaluation and implementation of area projects and programming. Will lead departmental initiatives, participate in budgetary oversite, manage and update policy and procedure development, and administrative decision-making. This position requires discretion in handling confidential information and may include supervision of support staff and student employees. This role plays a key part in advancing student leadership development through evidence-based programming, collaboration with campus partners, and engagement with external stakeholders.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions.

• Serves as the advisor and primary contact for the Presidents Leadership Council (PLC) and Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) scholarship programs.
• Oversees course development for the Freshman Leadership Fall and Spring Courses.
• Develops and Coordinates the Lessons in Leadership Speaker Series.
• Direct the leadership scholarship review and selection process. This includes incoming freshman, transfer, and continuing selection of students.
• Assists with designing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive leadership programs including activities, seminars, and other experiential and developmental opportunities based upon specific student leadership development outcomes and best practices research.
• Leads by example, personally delivering select instructional materials.
• Directs, develops, implements leadership presentations and workshops delivered to elementary and high school programs and schools through collaboration with undergraduate enrollment and other community partners.
• Serves on necessary university committees.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience Required

Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications/Experience Preferred

Professional experience overseeing leadership programming.

Direct experience as an educator or organizational training & development professional.

Proven ability to develop and deliver coursework.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, human relations, public relations, and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently, handles multiple tasks simultaneously, and interacts professionally with all segments of the University community.
