Director, Education & Coaching Full Time NEW

The Director of Education & Coaching at the Electric & Gas Industries Association is the strategic lead for the overall training content and coaching services delivered through Contractor University and HVAC Distributor University, as well as the development and maintenance of the educational resources and implementation tools/templates needed to support both platforms. This position has the ability to work remotely from home or from the EGIA headquarters in Rancho Cordova, CA.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the internal coaching team while developing and implementing a standardized, systemized coaching approach for EGIA.
• Create a step-by-step member experience timeline outlining the annual coaching plan, key milestones, and delivery schedule.
• Develop the necessary forms, collateral, processes, and program infrastructure to ensure a consistent, well-executed, and well-documented coaching experience for member contractors.
• Create, organize, and maintain a centralized repository of templates, SOPs, presentation materials, and related resources within EGIA’s project management platform.
• Lead the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process for new internal business coaches.
• Ensure the Contractor University Best Practices Library materials remain current with industry standards and best practices, while leading the process for updating and enhancing content as needed.
• Maintain and continuously improve the Contractor University Business Evaluator System and customized training roadmap templates to ensure alignment with the latest educational tools, resources, and training solutions offered by Contractor University.
• Present workshops, online masterclasses, breakout sessions, and keynote presentations for EGIA and partner events as needed.
• Develop quiz questions, course descriptions, keywords, and review videos for all new online courses.
• Lead the overall strategy and management process for responding to Ask-the-Expert questions across the internal coaching team.
• Collaborate with the Director of Events to plan and manage the annual training schedule for Contractor University and HVAC Distributor University, including: Workshops, webinars and new on-demand content additions for online platforms (online courses, etc.)
• Partner with the Director of Events to evaluate and vet educators, trainers, and coaches for inclusion on the EGIA speakers bureau website and participation in training initiatives and collaborative projects.
• Lead the development of HVAC contractor annual survey questions and oversee the creation of the post-survey summary report for the Annual Survey Project.
• Participate in business development initiatives and partnership meetings with manufacturers, distributors, and other industry partners as needed.
• Continuously research competing business training and coaching organizations and develop strategies to ensure EGIA remains the industry-leading education and coaching solution.

Required Skills

• Expert-level understanding of HVAC contracting and HVAC distribution, primarily from a business growth & optimization perspective
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to analyze situations, identify practical solutions, and effectively resolve operational, team, and client-related challenges.
• Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities with the ability to manage competing priorities, track project progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy, consistency, and quality across projects, communications, and program execution.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to proactively share updates, coordinate information, and ensure team members and company leadership remain informed on project progress, priorities, and changes.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage, educate, and inspire diverse audiences in both in-person and virtual environments
• Proficiency in using CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
• Strong understanding of the Zoom web meeting platform
• Strong grasp on, and overall knowledge of, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
• Experience using Monday.com is a plus

Required Experience & Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership position of a successful HVAC contracting business
• A minimum of 5 years of experience coaching HVAC contractors on how to optimize their businesses
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a sales role inside the HVAC distribution channel
• Experience delivering educational presentations in front of large audiences
• Experience managing & supervising other HVAC business coaches is a plus
