Dining Room Hostess Full Time NEW

Established in 1928, The Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club is a private nonprofit social, athletic, and recreational club located in Virginia Beach offering a tapestry of historic charm and modern amenities. The Club offers golfing, yachting, swimming, tennis, dining and other social, recreational, and athletic facilities for the pleasure and recreation of our Members, their Families and invited Guests. Our mission is to provide a family-oriented environment that supports close personal contact and fellowship amongst Members.

We are seeking a Host/Hostess to join our team and be the first point of contact for our members and their guests.

Host/Hostess responsibilities include:

• Greeting and seating our members and their guests to the dining and bar areas
• Manage Reservations
• Answer incoming calls to the hostess stand
• Take to go orders
• Support dining room staff
• Clean menus and update daily features
• Must have full time availability
• Ultimately, you’ll ensure we provide excellent customer service and a pleasant dining experience to our members and their guests

Skills:

• Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess is a plus
• Understanding of restaurant etiquette
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations
• Experience in managing reservations
• Demonstrable customer-service skills
• Excellent communication skills (via phone and in-person)
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar areas
• Availability to work in shifts as needed
• Knowledge of POS system
• Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
• Must be outgoing, self-motivated and detail oriented

Job Type: Full-time
