What To Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Communicate clearly and concisely with customers using proper business English to explain complex insurance topics
- Interact directly with customers, including members and providers, to resolve issues related to health insurance products and services
- Maintain accurate electronic notes of conversations in appropriate software systems
- Conduct problem-solving and complaint resolution in a positive and professional manner
- Develop expertise in benefits and eligibility for various health insurance plans
What Is Required (Qualifications)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a specialized customer service environment, or two (2) years of college coursework (at least 48 credit hours) plus one (1) year of experience in a specialized customer service environment
- Strong active listening and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a high-stress environment
- Must pass the company proficiency test: Customer Service Assessment

- Experience working in the health insurance industry
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and privacy rules
- Proficiency in using customer service software and systems
- Demonstrated ability to handle confrontational situations with empathy and professionalism
