About the Opportunity

A well-established precision manufacturing company in the Milwaukee area is seeking a Buyer/Planner to support production through effective purchasing, scheduling, and supplier coordination. This is a confidential search for a stable, growth-oriented organization known for high-quality machining and long-term employee retention.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how procurement and production planning work together—and can keep both running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Plan and release work orders to support production schedulePurchase raw materials, components, and services to meet demand and lead times
• Maintain optimal inventory levels while avoiding shortages or excess stock
• Communicate with suppliers on pricing, availability, and delivery timelines
• Track and expedite orders to ensure on-time production
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve supply issues
• Analyze demand, forecasts, and usage trends to improve planning accuracy
• Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems (orders, lead times, inventory levels)
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and supplier improvements

What You Bring

• 2–5+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain (manufacturing environment preferred)
• Experience with ERP or MRP systems
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Clear communication with suppliers and internal teams
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams

Preferred Experience

• Background in machining, fabrication, or precision manufacturing
• Understanding of lead times, inventory control, and production scheduling
• Experience with supplier negotiation or cost analysis
