About the Role
We’re hiring a Bilingual Operations Coordinator to manage day-to-day coordination between our customers and our Mandarin-speaking subcontractor installation crews. You’ll be the bridge between English-speaking homeowners and Chinese-speaking installation teams — translating not just language, but priorities, schedules, and expectations.
This role is remote-first with regular field travel. You will not need to come into our office. You will work from home and travel to active installation sites across the NYC metro area as needed.
About Always On Energy
Always On Energy is one of the fastest-growing heat pump and home weatherization contractors in the New York metro area. We install ductless mini-split systems, central heat pumps, and full-home weatherization projects for residential customers across the five boroughs, Long Island, and the tri-state region. We’re an approved contractor with Con Edison, PSEG Long Island, NYSERDA, and Orange & Rockland — partnering with utility rebate programs to bring our customers significant incentives on their energy upgrades.
What You’ll Do
- Dispatch HVAC and weatherization installation jobs to our subcontractor crews
- Communicate with installers and technicians in Mandarin (spoken and written) on job details, schedules, equipment requirements, and on-site issues
- Communicate with English-speaking homeowners on scheduling, job updates, and post-installation follow-up
- Visit active job sites to verify install progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality standards
- Manage inventory of HVAC equipment, parts, and materials
- Place equipment orders with suppliers and coordinate deliveries to job sites
- Dispatch service and warranty calls to the appropriate technician
- Coordinate with our office team on rebate paperwork, permits, and customer documentation
- Escalate operational issues to leadership when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese AND English — spoken and written (non-negotiable)
- 2+ years of operations, dispatch, project coordination, or related experience — HVAC, construction, home services, or logistics background strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle for daily travel to job sites
- Strong organizational skills — comfortable tracking multiple installations, deliveries, and service calls in parallel
- Tech-comfortable — scheduling software, email, text, basic spreadsheets, smartphone apps
- Self-directed — able to work independently from home without daily in-person supervision
- Calm under pressure, clear communicator
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment, mini-split systems, or weatherization is a major plus
- Familiarity with NYC and tri-state geography
