Introduction
The State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), River Valley Services (RVS) is seeking a motivated and mission-driven Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor (PCN 86569) to join our Clinical Services Administration in Middletown. This is a key role that ensures our clinical operations remain staffed, efficient, and responsive to the needs of the individuals we serve.

River Valley Services (RVS) is a community mental health center serving Middlesex County and the towns of Lyme and Old Lyme. RVS’s goal is to provide the highest quality crisis intervention, case management, and residential and clinical services to adult citizens, 18 years of age and older, who suffer from serious mental disorders and who lack the financial means to secure such services in the private sector. Services are directed at improving clients’ quality of life and fostering dignity, ability, and recovery. We are dedicated to promoting a complete and responsive service system for our clients and others in need. All persons receiving services from River Valley Services have the right to culturally appropriate mental health and addiction services consistent with their communication needs and personal preferences

PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Departments of Mental Health and Addiction Services and Developmental Services this class is accountable for directing a clinical division, a clinical discipline or a clinical program within a specified geographic area.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Minimum Qualifications – General Experience
Four (4) years of professional experience in behavioral health care and a Master’s degree in a clinical discipline, public health administration, health care administration or hospital administration.
Minimum Qualifications – Special Experience
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been supervising professional staff.
NOTE: For state employees this experience is interpreted at the level of a Behavioral Health Unit Supervisor, Developmental Services Supervisor of Case Management, Nurse Supervisor or Supervising Clinician.
Preferred Qualifications
Special Requirements
Department of Developmental Services: Incumbents in this class may be required to maintain the appropriate current license for clinical social work, marital and family therapist, professional counselor, registered nurse or psychologist.
Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services: Incumbents in this class must maintain the appropriate current license for clinical social work, marital and family therapist, professional counselor, registered nurse, psychologist or alcohol and drug counselor.
