Role Description The Assistant Director of Strategic Operations is a part-time, remote role responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and optimization of HourIndia’s core operational and strategic initiatives. This role will help translate high-level business goals into actionable plans, monitor key operational metrics, and coordinate cross-functional projects across product, marketing, customer experience, and finance. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and refining operational processes, preparing reports and dashboards, conducting market and competitive analysis, and identifying opportunities to enhance platform efficiency and user experience. The Assistant Director will collaborate closely with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making, oversee operational experiments and pilots, and ensure smooth implementation of new workflows and policies. This position also contributes to risk assessment, resource planning, and continuous improvement to support HourIndia’s growth and community-focused mission.
Qualifications

• Experience in strategic operations, business operations, or management consulting, with the ability to translate strategy into clear operational plans and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort with data analysis, dashboards, KPIs, and performance tracking tools.
• Project and program management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder coordination, and on-time delivery of cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presentations, reports, documentation, and collaboration with remote, distributed teams.
• Familiarity with online marketplaces, freelancing platforms, or startup environments; experience in operations for tech or SaaS products is highly beneficial.
• Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation software, project management tools, communication platforms).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and make sound, data-informed recommendations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage but not required.
