DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Administrative Officer 3 within the Bureau of Veterans Programs, you will lead advocacy and strategic outreach for justice-involved veterans. Your primary objective will be to generate awareness and secure support for essential services by developing strategic partnerships and overseeing the acquisition and monitoring of related grants. You will be responsible for designing and executing large-scale campaigns to educate the public and the veteran support community on critical issues, including reintegration for hard-to-place veterans, Veterans Service Units (VSU), and Veterans Treatment Courts. To ensure program success, you will coordinate extensively with the Department of Corrections, the Department of Human Services, and county directors. Working closely with the Statewide Veterans Coordinator, you will optimize correctional veteran services and ensure all initiatives align with program goals and grant requirements. Your role involves identifying operational risks, creating mitigation plans, and building strong coalitions among internal leadership, veteran service organizations, and community providers to facilitate the successful reintegration and support of veterans in need.
