Overview

Research, design, and develop third party software solutions to meet business unit and client needs. Partner with department managers and IT professionals, ensuring that a quality product is provided by the department in an accurate and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Performs analysis of business unit requirements and completes requests while maintaining compliance with Internal Control standards to promote the appropriate use of Paychex systems and data to protect client and Paychex information.
• Evaluates incoming business unit requests by suggesting high level solutions and preparing development estimates.
• Identifies root cause of reported system issues related to any of the supported third party solutions and recommends practical and effective solutions and preventative controls to help mitigate risk of issues reoccurring.
• Connects existing internal software products by enabling platforms to work together and creates code to link them to create comprehensive solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Python and C#
• Build and maintain APIs, services, and backend systems
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance
• Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other engineers throughout the SDLC
• Integrate with databases, third-party services, and cloud platforms
• Support application deployments and ongoing maintenance
• Investigates available technology to determine practicality of new technological solutions.
• Participates in company-sponsored projects that impact ESS solutions by ensuring successful and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Communicates important or sensitive issues determined by the direct or indirect impact on business units and/or clients quickly and effectively to appropriate audience to ensure that measures are taken immediately to resolve the issue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
• 3 years of experience in Code development experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Troubleshooting (Problem Solving) – Preferred
• Python (Programming Language) – Required
• C Suite Language-Required
• SQL (Programming Language) – Preferred
• Application Programming Interface (API) – Preferred

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $70,100-$110,100 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
