The Streaming team owns the full-stack infrastructure powering the video experience for over 1.4M+ Verkada cameras. As a Frontend Engineer (Video Streaming), your work will directly shape how millions of people rely on video every day to stay safe. You’ll own the web frontend streaming experience, ensuring that videos play seamlessly with industry-leading reliability and security. At the same time, you’ll help simplify our streaming stack and ship features like History Player Search.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of core frontend features across our dashboard, video playback, and device management experiences.
• Partner with designers and product managers to bring intuitive, high-polish user experiences to life.
• Drive technical decisions around architecture, frameworks, performance, and best practices.
• Mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate backend, infrastructure and cross-functional teams e.g. design/product to deliver efficient, scalable and delightful user experiences.
• Continuously improve UI performance, accessibility, and maintainability.

About You

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React.
• Solid understanding of web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, DOM APIs, browser performance, accessibility).
• Experience building scalable, maintainable frontend architectures.
• Passion for great design, usability, and delivering customer-delighting products.
• Bonus: experience with video streaming, codecs like H.264, real-time data, or playback technologies like WebCodecs.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week

Annual Pay Range

At Verkada, we want to attract and retain the best employees, and compensate them in a way that appropriately and fairly values their individual contribution to the company. With that in mind, we carefully consider a number of factors to determine the appropriate starting pay for an employee, including their primary work location and an assessment of a candidate’s skills and experience, as well as market demands and internal parity. A Verkada employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, depending on their role, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of restricted stock units (RSUs)

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).
