Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Vice President of Operations to lead and scale our multi-site platform across fuel stations, convenience stores, and truck stop / travel center locations.

This role will have full operational oversight across a growing portfolio and will be responsible for driving performance, implementing standardized systems, and executing a disciplined, corporate-run operating model.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in high-growth environments and has deep experience in multi-unit operations across fuel, convenience retail, QSR, and/or truck stop / travel center platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Oversee day-to-day operations across a multi-state portfolio of fuel stations, convenience stores, and truck stop / travel center locations
• Ensure efficient operation of fueling, retail, foodservice, and ancillary services (e.g., truck parking, maintenance, driver amenities)
• Implement and enforce standardized operating procedures across all sites
• Drive consistency in store condition, customer service, merchandising, and labor efficiency

Financial & Performance Management

• Own P&L performance across the portfolio, including revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost control
• Analyze site-level KPIs (fuel volume, inside sales, labor, shrink, etc.) and implement performance improvement plans
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and ROI-driven operational strategies

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, hire, and develop regional and site-level management teams
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, execution, and continuous improvement
• Establish training programs and operational playbooks to support rapid scaling

Strategic Execution

• Execute the company’s corporate-run operating model with centralized oversight and regional execution
• Support new site openings, acquisitions, and operational transitions
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve customer experience and increase dwell time

Vendor & Partner Management

• Manage key vendor relationships and negotiate favorable terms
• Collaborate with strategic partners (including Sunoco/APlus) to ensure brand and operational alignment
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards

Operational Excellence & Innovation

• Drive initiatives in inventory optimization, pricing strategy, labor efficiency, and technology adoption
• Identify opportunities for ancillary revenue streams (foodservice, carwash, gaming, trucker services, etc.)
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the platform

Qualifications

• 10–20+ years of experience in multi-unit operations within fuel/convenience retail, truck stops, travel centers, QSR, or related sectors
• Proven track record managing large, geographically dispersed portfolios
• Direct experience overseeing truck stop or travel center operations (fuel, parking, driver services, maintenance, etc.) strongly preferred
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-site P&Ls
• Deep experience in team leadership, hiring, and talent development
• Expertise in operational systems, compliance, and process standardization
• Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-growing environment
