Organization Overview: HomeAid North Texas, in partnership with the North Texas home building industry, local nonprofit organizations, and community leaders, builds and improves housing and programmatic facilities for those at risk of and experiencing homelessness.
Position Summary: The Director of Projects serves as the “Chief Problem Solver” and “Construction Liaison” for HomeAid North Texas. While the Director of Programs focuses on the people (volunteers/donors), you focus on the physical assets (buildings/resources). You are the “Yang” to their “Yin,” forming a collaborative dynamic duo that drives our mission forward.
This role requires an entrepreneurial builder mindset. You will work directly with the Project & Construction Committee to diagnose the facility constraints of our nonprofit partners (e.g., “We need more beds” or “Our kitchen is failing”) and solve them by assembling a team of Builder Captains and Trade Partners. You are responsible for driving the “Pay It Forward” model, ensuring that the significant savings we generate for nonprofits are tracked, valued, and converted into sustainable revenue for HomeAid.
Key Responsibilities:
The Nonprofit Board: Explaining realistic construction timelines and costs.
The City/Municipality: Navigating permitting, zoning, or inspection hurdles (or finding the
committee member who can).
The Builder: Defining clear scopes so they can donate efficiently.
