Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated CNC Setup Operator II to join a growing manufacturing team producing precision-machined components for tank systems and related heavy industrial applications. This role is ideal for a self-driven machinist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can independently handle machine setups, changeovers, and production troubleshooting with minimal supervision.

Candidates should have strong experience operating and setting up CNC lathes and mills, along with a proactive attitude and a strong sense of ownership on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete setups and changeovers on CNC lathes and mills
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and machining specifications
• Load tooling, set offsets, and verify machine readiness before production runs
• Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure quality standards are met
• Troubleshoot machining or tooling issues and make necessary adjustments
• Maintain production efficiency while producing high-quality components
• Work closely with programming, engineering, and production teams to improve processes
• Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Support additional manufacturing operations as needed

Qualifications

• Previous CNC setup experience required
• Strong experience with both CNC lathes and CNC mills
• Ability to independently perform setups and changeovers
• Experience machining precision metal components
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment
• Robotics or automated manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Self-starter mentality with high motivation and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus

Preferred Experience

• Experience machining components for tanks, pressure vessels, or heavy industrial equipment
• Exposure to robotic automation or robotic machining cells
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience

Pay: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour
