Senior Accountant (Knoxville) Full Time NEW

We are growing! MyVenue is expanding its Finance Team and seeking a Senior Accountant to support our evolving needs. This is an in-office role based in Knoxville.

As a key member of the Finance Team, you will play an important role in maintaining the financial health of the organisation.

The Opportunity:

MyVenue is seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role in building and scaling the accounting and finance function. The title will be determined based on the background and strengths of the right candidate, as this role will drive the core accounting function in a fast-growing dynamic environment.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact opportunity with exposure to leadership and the ability to grow into increased responsibility over time, potentially on a leadership-track path.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond pure execution and take ownership of processes, systems, reporting, and continuous improvement in a growth-stage SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and support key elements of the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, consolidations, and preparation of accurate financial statements.
• Apply technical accounting knowledge (including ASC 606) to revenue recognition and deferred revenue, ensuring compliance and accuracy across reporting.
• Partner with FP&A and leadership to deliver financial reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and actionable business insights.
• Strengthen financial operations by developing internal controls, improving accounting policies and processes, and driving standardisation, efficiency, and compliance across the function.

Essential Skills:

• 4–8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a blended accounting/financial analysis role 
• Strong foundation in general ledger accounting, reporting, and/or financial analysis
• Understanding of revenue recognition and deferred revenue concepts
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, etc.) 

Helpful to have:

• SaaS or software industry experience
• Experience supporting recurring revenue business models
• CPA (or pursuing) 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills for effectively working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet deadlines
