Senior Accountant – STORIS Full Time NEW

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant – STORIS on a Direct Hire basis for our client in Yuma, AZ. This role can be based remotely anywhere in the United States.

Summary

We are seeking a hands-on accounting professional to lead financial operations while also driving process improvements through automation and systems optimization with STORIS. This role blends traditional accounting responsibilities with operational and strategic support, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. You will play a key role in managing financial health, improving workflows, and supporting business decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and forecasting
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial reporting across daily, weekly, and monthly cadences
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes in compliance with GAAP standards
• Partner with leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies aligned to business goals
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights on risks and opportunities
• Reconcile financial transactions including invoices, deposits, and credit card activity, resolving discrepancies
• Evaluate and enhance accounting systems and workflows, including ERP/POS platforms, to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Lead automation efforts across accounting processes such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Ensure seamless integration and data flow between accounting systems, banking platforms, and operational tools

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial operations within retail-related settings
• Prior experience using and automating workflows in STORIS or another related POS-integrated accounting system
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience managing full close processes and P&L ownership
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software; must be tech-savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
• Proven ability to improve processes through automation, system integration, and workflow optimization
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to support some HR-related processes such as onboarding and compliance
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
• Some travel during training may be required
