Position Description:
Responsible for the safe operations of Attractions Operations. Intensive training and assessment is provided including certification through the International Ride Operator Certification.
Responsibilities:
Focuses on the safe safety of the guests on the attractions, fellow team members and yourself while consistently providing outstanding service to all guests and co workers at GCAP.
Position will be working outdoors in all weather conditions responsible for attraction operations. Attraction may include but not limited to Alpine Coaster, Giant Canyon Swing, Cliffhanger Roller coaster, Defiance Roller Coaster, 4D Theater, Mine Wheel, Wild West Express, Giddy up and Glenwood Canyon Flyer.
Complete International Ride Operator Certification and operate within the standards of performance outlined in the certification.
Complete At-The-Ride training and be proficient on at least three attractions.
Proactively identify any hazard or safety concerns related to the attraction.
Listen to and follow training/direction accurately.
Interact with guests and provide detailed safety and user instructions.
Maintain the cleanliness of the ride and the ride area.
Effectively answer any guest questions related to park operations, or know who to ask, MOD.
Complete other tasks or duties as they are assigned by Attractions Department Leadership.
Personnel and Training:
Complete the International Ride Operator Certification (IROC).
Actively participate in At-The-Ride Training and successfully complete training and assessments, displaying proficiency, knowledge and completion of Training.
Administration:
Become familiar with standard operating procedures and International Ride Training standards of performance. Actively participate in training and successfully complete training assessments. Consistently operate attractions as trained and pass both internal and external performance audits to ensure compliance with the standard operating procedures and IROC standards of performance.
Operations:
Have a keen eye for the safety of the guests on the attractions, fellow team members and yourself.
Ensure attraction operation is within the bounds of the standard operating procedures and the training provided
Respond to guest inquiries and guest feedback in a professional manner.
Complete other tasks or duties as they are assigned by Attractions Department Leadership.
Safety:
Safely operate designated rides and attractions as training.
Be alert to the operation of the attraction and report any safety concerns/deviations from normal operation.
Listen to and follow training/direction accurately.
Interact with guests and provide detailed safety and user instructions.
Maintain the cleanliness of the ride and the ride area.
Communication:
Communicate attraction updates as needed to Attractions Department Leadership
Collaborate with maintenance department technicians to create an interdependency of safety between operations and maintenance for the safe operation of attractions.
Requirements:
Commitment to safety and completing all required training.
Must have a positive attitude and excellent customer service skills with a strong desire to please guests and employees.
Represent the company with a positive and professional image.
Must be able to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Expected to be on call and available to assist in emergency situations.
Complete other tasks or duties as they are assigned by the Attractions Manager.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess or successfully complete IROC Operator Certification prior to operating an attraction.
Must be expert with what is offered in different areas of the park, including guest services, rides, shops, games and food, in order to direct our guests.
Courtesy, alertness, a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly are necessary.
Able to interpret both written & verbal instructions.
Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and conditions.
Must have reliable transportation.
Compensation: This position pays $18.75/hour
Beyond Payday Perks:
Within 2026 work the following hours and earn a scholarship! You must be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester. Scholarship will be paid directly to your higher education school.
250 hours – $500 higher education scholarship
400 hours – $1,000 higher education scholarship
600 hours – $1,800 higher education scholarship
Pay: $18.75 per hour
