Staff Software Engineer – Full Stack (Golang) Full Time

This role sits at the intersection of full-stack engineering, distributed systems, and modern platform architecture, contributing to the evolution of a high-impact digital insurance platform. You will help build and scale core services that power critical customer journeys, from quoting to product delivery, in a fast-moving, product-driven environment. The work spans backend services in Go, database design with PostgreSQL, and modern frontend experiences using React and TypeScript. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering peers to shape end-to-end solutions that improve performance, reliability, and user experience. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where quality, scalability, and velocity must coexist. You will also contribute to engineering standards, system design decisions, and the adoption of modern AI-assisted development practices across teams. The environment is collaborative, pragmatic, and focused on shipping impactful software at scale.

Accountabilities

• Own and develop core full-stack services primarily using Golang and PostgreSQL, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability across production systems.
• Contribute to the end-to-end product lifecycle, from architecture and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization of key platform features.
• Design and evolve distributed systems and APIs, supporting robust integration patterns across backend services and frontend applications.
• Improve system reliability by resolving production issues, enhancing observability, and ensuring high-quality incident response practices.
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, automated testing (unit and integration), and continuous delivery improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and engineers to define and deliver impactful product capabilities.
• Promote automation, modern engineering practices, and AI-augmented development workflows to improve team productivity and reduce technical debt.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building full-stack or backend-heavy systems in production environments.
• Strong proficiency in Golang, with hands-on experience building scalable backend services and working with PostgreSQL.
• Solid experience with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and API design (e.g., REST, OpenAPI, or similar frameworks).
• Frontend experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, automated testing, and secure software development principles.
• Experience working in cross-functional agile teams with strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to design systems end-to-end, make pragmatic technical decisions, and operate effectively in fast-paced environments.
