About The Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented mechanical designer with expertise in SolidWorks to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating precise mechanical designs and detailed 3D models and drawings to support manufacturing. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure designs meet specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Create and revise detailed 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to develop new projects and meet customer on-time delivery dates.
- Be able to read submittal documentation to design and modify projects.
- Support mechanical engineers and production teams by implementing design changes based on shop floor redlines and feedback; update drawings and models accordingly using SolidWorks.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design or drafting, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment.
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting & Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, sheet metal, weldments, etc.).
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to twenty-five pounds at times.
Work Environment
May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities, in offices, in multiple shops, and in commercial buildings. Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods.
