Barge Operator Full Time

Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Barge Operator to oversee the safe and efficient operation of our barges on inland waterways. This vital role involves maneuvering, docking, and maintaining barges to ensure smooth transportation of Hoists. Duties

• Operate and control barge movements, ensuring precise navigation along waterways
• Conduct routine inspections of the barge’s mechanical systems to identify and address maintenance needs promptly
• Assist with rigging operations for loading and unloading Hoists safely and efficiently
• Maintain clear communication with crew members and other personnel during docking, departure, and transit procedures
• Follow all safety protocols diligently, including emergency procedures, to safeguard personnel and cargo at all times

Skills

• Strong rigging skills with the ability to handle lifting equipment safely and effectively
• Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on barge systems
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments while maintaining attention to detail
• Clear communication skills for coordinating with team members and external partners
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to maritime operations and vessel handling
