Vice President, Global Market Expansion
Position Overview
The Vice President, Global Market Expansion is responsible for driving the company’s international growth strategy by identifying, entering, and scaling new global markets. This executive role focuses on market selection, entry strategy design, localization, partnership development, and execution of expansion initiatives. The position ensures the company successfully grows beyond existing markets while building a scalable global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
Global Expansion Strategy
Develop and execute the company’s global market expansion strategy
Identify high-potential countries and regions for entry and growth
Define market entry models (direct operations, partnerships, distributors, joint ventures, acquisitions)
Build a structured global expansion roadmap aligned with business goals
Market Entry & Execution
Lead end-to-end execution of new market entry initiatives
Coordinate legal, regulatory, tax, and operational setup in new countries
Establish go-to-market strategies tailored to local conditions
Ensure successful launch and scaling of operations in new regions
Local Market Development
Adapt business models, pricing, and offerings for local markets
Build and manage regional teams or local partners
Develop distribution, sales, and operational channels in new markets
Ensure alignment between global brand strategy and local execution
Revenue Growth & Performance Management
Drive revenue growth across newly entered and developing markets
Set performance targets for regional expansion initiatives
Monitor KPIs including revenue, market share, and profitability
Optimize performance and scale successful market models globally
Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Building
Develop strategic partnerships with local and regional organizations
Negotiate commercial agreements to support market entry and growth
Build ecosystems that enable faster penetration and scaling
Manage key stakeholder relationships in target markets
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with sales, marketing, product, supply chain, legal, and finance teams
Ensure alignment between global strategy and regional execution
Coordinate resources for market expansion initiatives
Report progress and insights to executive leadership
Market Intelligence & Insights
Analyze global market trends, competition, and consumer behavior
Assess risks and opportunities in target markets
Provide data-driven recommendations for expansion priorities
Continuously refine expansion strategy based on performance feedback
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Trade, or related field
10+ years of experience in international business, market expansion, or global strategy
Proven track record of successfully entering and scaling multiple markets
Strong understanding of global business environments and cross-border operations
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experience in multinational corporations or high-growth global companies
Background in consumer goods, retail, technology, luxury, or industrial sectors
Experience in joint ventures, partnerships, or acquisitions
Multilingual ability preferred (English required; additional languages a plus)
