Job Title: Warehouse Material Handler
Job Description
This role focuses on material handling and warehouse support activities, including operating stand-up order picker and reach forklifts, performing pick/pack and kitting tasks, and maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts. You will work with handheld barcode scanners and basic PC systems to move, track, and verify products while supporting a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
Operate materials handling equipment, including stand-up order picker and reach style forklifts, to move products safely and efficiently.
Load and unload freight from trucks and staging areas.
Handle product movement for receiving, picking, packing, and kitting using a handheld barcode scanner.
Check, count, and verify freight and inventory for accuracy.
Perform cycle counts to help maintain accurate inventory records.
Inspect forklift equipment on a daily basis and perform minor maintenance as needed.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and follow all safety procedures.
Conduct daily operations in a manner that promotes safety for yourself and others.
Perform other warehouse and material handling duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
At least 6+ months of warehouse experience in pick, pack, and kitting activities.
Certification and hands-on experience operating stand-up order picker forklifts.
Certification and hands-on experience operating reach style forklifts.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Ability to perform accurate cycle counts and basic inventory checks.
Comfort using handheld barcode scanners for product movement and tracking.
Basic PC skills to support warehouse and inventory tasks.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all material handling activities.
Ability to learn new tasks quickly in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in warehouse packing, picking, kitting, and material handling.
Experience with loading and unloading freight in a warehouse setting.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently once trained.
Strong focus on safety and adherence to warehouse procedures.
Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with warehouse team members.

This is a Contract position based out of Vernon Hills, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $21.00/hr.
