About the Role

This is an in-person role based at our Fort Lauderdale retail store (Wynwood Dog Food).

This is a hybrid position that combines core retail associate responsibilities with customer service support. You will manage day-to-day in-store operations, including assisting customers, processing transactions, and maintaining inventory, while also serving as a key point of contact for customer inquiries.

In addition to the in-store experience, you will support customers through inbound and outbound calls and emails related to orders, delivery updates, product questions, and issue resolution. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to balance in-store interactions with customer support responsibilities.

You will also collaborate closely with other store locations and HQ teams, including Fulfillment and Production. This role is best suited for someone who is self-sufficient, adaptable, and comfortable communicating across multiple channels, with a willingness to learn and confidently speak to our products and the fundamentals of pet nutrition.

This is not a passive retail role. It requires active communication, problem-solving, and product education throughout the day.

Responsibilities & Key Functions

• Engage with customers (and their dogs!) in store, providing recommendations for meals, treats, supplements, and other WDFC products
• Develop and apply strong product and pet nutrition knowledge, including understanding basic dietary needs and conditions, to confidently educate and guide customers
• Build and maintain customer relationships through thoughtful follow up and ongoing support
• Manage day to day retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, store organization, and point of sale transactions
• Act as a customer service support hub by handling both inbound and outbound calls and emails related to orders, delivery updates, product questions, and issue resolution
• Balance and prioritize in store customer interactions with customer support responsibilities throughout the day
• Collaborate closely with cross functional teams, including retail, production, and fulfillment, on process improvements and day to day coordination
• Operate with a high level of ownership and self sufficiency in a role that requires wearing multiple hats
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and POS operations

Qualifications

• Previous retail and/or customer service experience required; experience in pet, veterinary, or food-related industries is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities in a single-coverage environment
• Strong communication skills, both in-person and via phone and email
• Comfortable handling multiple priorities at once, including in-store customers and customer support inquiries
• Highly organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to problem-solve and make decisions confidently
• Experience working cross-functionally and collaborating with different teams is a plus
• Comfortable using POS systems, iPads, and customer support tools; experience with Shopify is a plus
• Passion for dogs and interest in pet health and nutrition

• Work Hours: Typically between 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM; may vary based on business needs. Additional time may be required for opening and closing tasks
