Production Materials Coordinator Full Time

A manufacturing organization is seeking a Material Control Expediter to support production by ensuring the timely flow of materials across departments. This role is responsible for tracking inventory, coordinating with internal teams, and resolving material-related issues to keep production on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Review production schedules, inventory reports, and shop orders to determine material needs and priorities
• Monitor material availability and coordinate movement of parts to production areas
• Communicate with supervisors regarding overdue orders and material status
• Locate, verify, and distribute materials to appropriate departments
• Inspect incoming materials, confirm part numbers, and resolve discrepancies
• Expedite material flow to prevent delays in production
• Coordinate with Purchasing and Engineering to support on-time delivery of materials
• Communicate schedules, deadlines, and updates across departments
• Support and guide material handling staff as needed
• Execute action items and assist in maintaining efficient workflow

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in material control, inventory, or stockroom operations, preferably in manufacturing
• Experience coordinating materials across multiple departments
• Ability to read and interpret drawings or technical documents
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience in manufacturing or a related industry (rail, heavy equipment, etc.) preferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Familiarity with inventory tracking and production systems
• Ability to use tape measures and basic hand tools
• Knowledge of both metric and standard (English) measurement systems
• Strong basic math and counting skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an active manufacturing environment
• Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 40 lbs
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Forklift experience or willingness to learn

Pay: $25.67 – $31.00 per hour
