Position: Materials Science Expert
Type: Contract
Compensation: $85–$93/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 20 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
- Author and review technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance in materials science.
- Develop original problem sets using phase diagrams, micrographs, and stress-strain curves.
- Write reference solutions and apply structured quality checks to ensure task quality.
- Annotate tasks with detailed insights to improve AI model outputs.
- Work independently and asynchronously with a flexible schedule.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- PhD in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field; MS with 3+ years experience; or BS with 5+ years experience.
- Working fluency in at least two of: phase equilibria, mechanical behavior, crystallography, polymers, or characterization (XRD, SEM, TEM).
- Comfortable interpreting micrographs, diffraction patterns, and property charts.
Preferred
- Publication record or industry R&D track.
