Job Summary
We are a high-end custom woodworking shop seeking an experienced Wood Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong color-matching skills and experience applying a variety of finishes to custom furniture, cabinetry, and millwork. Attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship are essential. Extensive professional wood finishing experience is preferred (10–15 years).
Responsibilities
- Prepare wood surfaces for finishing
- Color match stains and custom finish samples
- Spray and apply varnishes, polyurethane coatings, lacquers, stains, and sealers
- Create specialty finishes, including high-gloss lacquer, ceruse, and linen finishes
- Inspect finished pieces to ensure quality and consistency
- Maintain finishing equipment and a clean, organized workspace
- Work closely with the shop team to meet project specifications and deadlines
Qualifications
- Significant professional wood finishing experience
- Strong color-matching abilities
- Experience spraying a variety of finishing products and specialty finishes
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, professional, and efficient
