Vice President of Digital Transformation (VP of Digital Transformation)
II. Job Overview
Responsible for formulating and driving the company’s overall digital transformation strategy, leveraging technology, data, and process optimization to enhance business efficiency, customer experience, and corporate competitiveness. This role typically reports directly to the CEO or COO and serves as a pivotal leadership position bridging the gap between business operations and technology. III. Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
Develop the company’s medium-to-long-term digital transformation strategy and implementation roadmap.
Drive the enterprise’s transition from traditional operations to a digital, data-driven model.
Collaborate with the executive team to align digital strategy with overall business strategy.
2. Business-Technology Integration
Gain a deep understanding of the needs of various business units and drive the deep integration of IT and business operations.
Identify and drive the digital upgrading of key business scenarios (e.g., Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, etc.).
Introduce new technologies (AI, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Automation, etc.) to empower business functions.
3. Data-Driven Initiatives & System Development
Establish an enterprise-wide data governance framework and data asset management capabilities.
Drive the development of data analytics, BI systems, and decision support frameworks.
Oversee the optimization and integration of core systems (ERP, CRM, Digital Platforms, etc.).
4. Digital Project Management
Lead major digital transformation projects (e.g., system launches, platform re-architecture, automation initiatives, etc.).
Manage project budgets, timelines, and ROI.
Establish standardized project management and implementation methodologies.
5. Organization & Change Management
Drive the transformation of organizational culture toward a digital and agile mindset.
Establish cross-functional collaboration mechanisms to enhance organizational execution capabilities.
Manage digital teams (Product, Data, IT, etc.) and foster their professional development.
6. External Collaboration & Ecosystem Building
Manage relationships with technology vendors, consulting firms, and strategic partners.
Evaluate and introduce advanced digital solutions and platforms.
IV. Job Qualifications
Educational Background
Bachelor’s degree or higher; degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields are preferred.
An MBA or other relevant advanced degree is preferred.
Work Experience
20+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in digital transformation or IT leadership roles.
Experience leading digital projects within large enterprises or multinational corporations is preferred.
Experience in “from-scratch” (0-to-1) initiatives or large-scale organizational transformations is preferred.
Required Competencies
Deep understanding of business operations (Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, etc.).
Familiarity with digital technologies (Cloud Computing, AI, Data Analytics, SaaS, etc.).
Excellent strategic thinking and execution capabilities.
Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination skills.
Outstanding communication and change management skills.
